Gilroy, CA - (January 19, 2010) – As disaster hit Haiti with a devastating magnitude-7.0 earthquake last Tuesday, Saint Louise Regional Hospital now urges its hospital community, associates and medical staff to get involved in the worldwide Haiti disaster relief effort.
Working closely with our health care system, the Daughters of Charity Health System, associates, medical staff and community members can contribute monetary funds through the Seton Institute. The Institute has offered to coordinate a system-wide relief effort to directly send monetary aid to the Daughters of Charity sisters in Haiti. The Daughters of Charity maintain a strong presence in Port-au-Prince, the capital city of Haiti, located near the quake’s epicenter.
“This was a very tragic event in which many innocent lives were lost, but the display of collective humanitarian efforts and assistance is remarkable,” said Joanne E. Allen, President and Chief Executive Officer. “I am proud to be part of a health system that truly values and acts upon the mission to help those in need. Now is the time to act.”
Checks may be made payable to Seton Institute and sent to: Seton Institute, P.O. Box 140182, St. Louis, Mo., 63114, Attn: Haiti Earthquake Relief, Daughters of Charity. Seton Institute will send 100% of every donation directly to the Daughters of Charity sisters in Haiti.
